THANKS FOR VISITING PACK 684

Thank you for visiting the Pack 684 website!

What differentiates us from the other outstanding Packs?  We are an active Pack characterized by fun, creativity, servant leadership, purpose, organization, and a sense of family.  The largest Pack in the District (approximately 88 scouts out of 1,000 in the District) but with a small town feel; 1 in every 4 eligible boys at Sangster Elementary School is in Pack 684.  We have scouts from Newington Forest and local private schools as well.  Our size provides a level of adult activism that is hard to beat.  We are not only active in our own Pack but helped lead District activities including the District Pinewood Derby, Springfield Scouting Expo, and District Roundtables.  One of our adults won a distinguished District award for his role in these and other Pack activities.  The Pack is consistently distinguished with the highest unit award.  See also the attached annual assessment where our families rate the Pack.

We are also pleased to have a partnering relationship with Pack 1501 that services scouts with special needs.  Through this relationship, we occassionally do joint activities.

Eligible boys may join Pack 684 at any time by contacting our Recruitment Chair, Allyson Walton, via e-mail at "allysonwalton@gmail.com". Other points of contact include our Committee Chair Dave Berchtold via "bsa.berchtold@gmail.com" or our Cubmaster Bill Peyton via "wmpeyton@cox.net".

You might find the other attachments useful as well such as "About Us", "Cub Scout Basics", and "Cub Scout Levels" in the menu to the left.  You might also wish to go to "https://beascout.scouting.org/".  The photos of sample Pack activities attached may take a few moments to open.  If you're considering scouting, we would welcome the opportunity to have you join us for an outing and see who we are and what we do.

If you have other family or friends who would like to go but are not part of our Pack they can still qualify as part of our group. Let me know? Please RSVP to Evite or directly to me. If we do NOT get at least 15 to ski/snowboard those who are already committed to going will just pay regular Sunday prices separately. Jason Pavalchak is lead on organizing attendees for Wizards Basketball for 3 March. We have about 13 scouts/family members interested but need 20 or more to be able to let the boys go down near the exit to the locker room and give the players high 5s as they come and go during the game. The boys also get to go down on the court after the game and shoot a free throw and will receive a special patch from the Wizards for attending the game. We would like to be able to order our tickets this Friday, 24 Feb so please contact Jason Pavalchak before then.
